Job Description

Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading a team of frontline employees to deliver orders to customers in a fast-paced delivery environment and manage the fleet vehicles and equipment for assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Hire and train new employees to ensure a skilled and efficient team.
    • Organize and oversee the schedules and work of assigned staff to meet delivery goals.
    • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations to drive employee growth and development.
    • Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Operations Management:
    • Plan and organize daily activities related to delivery operations to ensure seamless execution.
    • Measure productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports to identify areas for improvement.
    • Coordinate with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and warehouse to ensure successful production operations.
    • Oversee the delivery functions to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
    • Determine labor needs to meet delivery goals and adjust staffing levels accordingly.
    • Assist with and update organizations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance of Department of Transportation and FMCSA safety standards including pre and post trip inspections.
    • Conduct team meetings and safety training to ensure that preventive measures are enforced.
    • Utilize all routing software (e.g. Encompass, Samsara, RoadNet, etc.) and make recommendations for efficiency and compliance.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills to lead a team of frontline employees.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and logistics management to drive efficiency and compliance.
  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure seamless execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to manage administrative tasks.
  • Able to attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Complete all assigned ABU training to ensure compliance and proficiency.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five years of related experience required.
  • Commercial Driver's License required.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Five years of operations or logistics experience preferred.
