Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Inspector to join our team at Grunau Fire. As a Fire Safety Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of buildings and facilities with fire codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of fire protection systems, including fire sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers, and emergency exits.
  • Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality courteous service, and by applying experience, knowledge, training, and great communication.
  • Thoroughly complete inspections in a timely manner as scheduled and interface with Inspection Coordinator to ensure that the customer receives the work per proposed scope.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and review inspection results with customer.
  • Turn in required paperwork at completion of each work order.
  • Use of phone and computers, tablets to process daily inspection reports.
  • Provide detailed feedback on deficiencies and necessary repairs.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and company vehicle in good working order.
  • Stay current with code requirements, industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications.
  • Desire to cross-train and learn other life safety fields - sprinkler systems - special hazards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Good verbal/written communication and customer service skills to clearly and concisely communicate with customers.
  • Mechanical and math aptitude.
  • Exceptional computer and Apple iOS skills.
  • Professional and organized.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience testing fire alarm systems required.
  • Ability and desire to be part of a team.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Valid driver's license.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Industrial, commercial, and residential building environment with moderate to high noise levels, and comfort with working at heights.
  • Mostly a physically demanding role. Majority of the daily demand is standing and walking stairs and climbing ladders, operating lifts.
