Environmental Scientist Job Description

At CHA Consulting, Inc., we are seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Power & Manufacturing - Advanced Energy/Environmental Team. The successful candidate will work from our office in Colonie, NY or Brooklyn, NY, and will be responsible for conducting field work and analyzing data to prevent and/or solve environmental problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field investigations and research to determine suitability of project sites for proposed use
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to project engineers on specific geologic, hydrologic, or other scientific aspects and their impact on the environment
  • Perform multiple routine tasks with little to no direction from a senior level scientist
  • Collaborate with clients to develop practical solutions that strike the right balance between environmental sustainability, community needs, and cost
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Hazmat inspections experience
  • NYS DOL Asbestos Inspector License
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment and mentor junior staff
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to site visits (~50% of the time)
