Position Summary:
GEM is currently seeking a Technical Editor to enhance our editorial team. This full-time role will provide critical support in the realm of technical editing, ensuring clarity and precision in documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding technical editing services within the Technical Editing and Communications group.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, managers, and leaders to refine technical documents.
- Edit and prepare existing technical materials for various audiences.
- Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and adaptability to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
Clearance and Citizenship Requirements:
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government-issued clearance, if necessary. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the work.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven experience with complex technical documents and procedures.
- Familiarity with large, multifaceted organizations or institutions is advantageous.
- Experience in managing sensitive and classified communications is a plus.
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, or a related discipline, coupled with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of English grammar and punctuation, along with extensive technical editing and writing experience.
- Ability to evaluate technical documents for appropriate editing depth based on various factors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
