Sr. Program Planner Job Description

At Terran Orbital Corporation, we are seeking an experienced Sr. Program Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Programs department, you will be responsible for establishing and refining our Program Planning & Scheduling processes, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, performance calculations, standards, and cadence in support of our Programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement schedule management processes and guidelines for internal team members, including MS Project change control and updating rules.
  • Drive the implementation of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and consult with Program Managers, technical experts, and third-party program management to integrate multiple parallel program-dependent initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive progress and performance, monitor changes and status, develop and facilitate communication, and coordinate program timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor the portfolio of programs timelines and deadlines, identify potential project schedule delays, and facilitate intervention in a timely manner.
  • Assist in negotiating hand-offs between program areas regarding technical content and schedules, as well as facilitating workaround planning as required.
  • Work with Engineering, Finance, Business Operations, Program Management, and Supplier Chain Management to translate customer requirements into the IMS and recommend actions to keep Programs within budget and completed on time.
  • Document Program scheduling processes and maintain records, support new Proposal orders, and assist the IPT team in the decision-making processes to mitigate risks and resolve challenges on a day-to-day basis.
Requirements:
  • 5 to 8+ years of experience as a program planner/scheduler.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, management, or a related discipline.
  • Expert in Earned Value Management reporting and metrics.
  • Proven track record of maintaining program schedules and providing performance reports through the project life cycle.
