Job Title: Immigration Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Immigration Attorney to join our team at HirefinderRPO. As an Immigration Attorney, you will play a critical role in providing legal services to survivors of crimes and advocating for their rights.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, with a focus on humanitarian-based immigration benefits such as VAWA, U Visa, and asylum. You will be responsible for handling a variety of immigration cases, including affirmative applications, removal defense, and detention cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual immigration consultations and know-your-rights presentations to immigrant communities.
  • Represent clients before various agencies, including immigration court, ICE, USCIS, and state and federal courts, in applications and advocacy for relief from removal.
  • Engage with allied community organizations, including presenting community education programs;
  • Participate in the preparation of grant and billing reports.
Requirements
  • Active membership in a State Bar (Does not have to be Florida)
  • The attorney will have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school,
  • Preferably have 1-3 years of relevant experience in immigration law.
  • Experience serving low-income communities is preferred but not required.
  • The attorney will have demonstrated the capacity to exhibit appropriate sensitivity to and empathy for individuals who have survived traumatic experiences and will be passionate about serving immigrants and vulnerable populations;
  • Ability to work effectively with a large caseload and function professionally within a highly stressful environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently at times and also as an effective part of a team, including other attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • An ability to balance and manage a variety of responsibilities.
  • Strong commitment to social, economic, and racial justice.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • The ability to speak Spanish or another language in addition to English is a plus.
