The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Brooklyn. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to our nursing staff. Your primary focus will be on ensuring high-quality patient care, while also developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to individuals with complex needs. You will also be responsible for supervising and mentoring our nursing staff, as well as providing education and training to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional care.

About the Salary

We offer a competitive salary for this role, which includes a base salary of $91,381, plus a geographic pay differential of $35,000, and a downstate adjustment of $3,400. This results in an estimated total annual salary of $129,781.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing and experience in a clinical setting. They will be expected to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical guidance and support to nursing staff
  • Developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures
  • Supervising and mentoring nursing staff
  • Providing education and training to nursing staff
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and be currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience is required, with one year of this experience being in a community setting.

A Master's degree in Nursing may be substituted for two years of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
