Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the classroom teacher in providing individualized support to students, including reinforcing learning material and devising strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial activities set up and assigned by the teacher.
  • Communicate with parents and maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Supervise students during breakfast, lunch, bus duty, and other activities as assigned.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as checking and recording student attendance, collecting and recording money, and maintaining bulletin boards.
  • Participate in inservice training programs and maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
Requirements:
  • Highly Qualified designation, with 48 college credits or 7 credits in core subject matter and passing WorkKeys test scores.
  • Previous experience working with students is desirable.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and perform basic operational functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
Working Conditions:

The EC Teacher Assistant will work in a classroom environment, with frequent interactions with students, teachers, and other school staff. The ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance is essential.
