Job Overview

Position: Senior ETL Developer

Role Summary: The Senior ETL Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of reporting solutions and data integration processes. This role involves working with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) methodologies to enhance reporting capabilities derived from CAD/RMS systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain SSRS reports aligned with business specifications.
  • Design and implement ETL workflows to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into a centralized data repository.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to identify and analyze reporting needs.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for efficient data manipulation.
  • Establish and execute data cleansing and validation protocols to ensure data integrity.
  • Design data models and schemas to facilitate reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Monitor performance metrics of SSRS reports and ETL processes, implementing optimizations as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to report generation, ETL operations, and data quality.
  • Document technical specifications, data mappings, and ETL processes for future reference.
  • Provide training and technical support to end-users regarding SSRS reports and data access methodologies.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years in roles such as SSRS Developer or ETL Developer, with strong expertise in SQL and database management, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server. Proficient in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL tasks and data integration.

Experience with Crime data from PremierOne CAD/RMS is essential. Familiarity with data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and data normalization is required. Knowledge of data visualization tools is a plus.

Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail. Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Certifications:

PremierOne CAD/RMS Certification is preferred.
