About the Role

Hines is seeking a skilled Painter for Multifamily to join our team at The Lumen. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for handling various painting projects within an assigned property.


Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to work orders or instructions from supervisors regarding painting and wall repair.
  • Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.
  • Install drywall, float, and finish.
  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler, using caulking guns and putty knives.
  • Select premixed paints or mix required portions to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
  • Remove fixtures, such as pictures and electric switch covers, from walls prior to painting, using screwdrivers.
  • Spread drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and cover surfaces, such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
  • Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers.
  • Simulate wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.
  • Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Hang wallpaper and fabrics.
  • Minor maintenance/repair-related items may be assigned, and other maintenance-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Two or more years' experience of direct experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Use olfactory, auditory, and visual senses.
  • Lift 25 lbs. or more.
  • Climb up and down stairs and ladders.
  • Access remote work areas and confined spaces (i.e., crawl spaces, roofs).
  • Use full range of manual dexterity (i.e., sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting).
  • Meet the shift working requirements of the assigned property; shifts may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Work overtime as business needs deem appropriate.
