Key Responsibilities- Prior Authorizations: Process prior authorizations in a timely manner, working closely with prescribers and insurance companies to ensure individuals receive the necessary approvals for medications.
- Medical Records: Support the medical records clerk in responding to requests for medical records in a timely manner, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Administration of Medications: Ensure proper storage and tracking of all medications, including sample medications, and maintain accurate medication logs.
- Vital Signs: Take vital signs for each individual, communicate results to prescribers, and record vital signs in the electronic health record.
- Maintain Proper Correspondence: Check printer, scans, faxes, and mail on a regular interval to retrieve correspondence and distribute as appropriate.
- Medical Waste: Ensure medical waste disposal is emptied regularly and that medical waste bins are being used appropriately.
- Assist with Prescription Needs: Fill prescriptions for non-controlled medications and assist individuals with their prescription needs.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Qualifications: Medical Assistant Certification preferred (Certified Nursing Assistant Certification will be considered).
