Join Our Team as an Environmental Services Supervisor

Under the guidance of the Manager, the Environmental Services Supervisor oversees the operational activities of Environmental Services, including Laundry, Waste Management, Patient Transport, Mailroom, Morgue, and Amenities staff to ensure efficient functioning within the healthcare facility. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, assessing the need for additional resources, and ensuring adequate staffing levels. This role entails supervisory duties within a non-professional capacity. The Supervisor plays a key role in upholding high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Regularly reports on the condition of all designated areas and is responsible for training and motivating team members. Ensures completion of all work schedules by supervising staff effectively.

This is a full-time evening shift position, including rotating weekends and holidays, at the NewYork-Presbyterian Center for Community Health.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification for operating pallet jacks and/or motorized carts.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Basic understanding of Environmental Services, laundry, or waste management operations, preferably in a large institutional setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with computer systems.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards and Quality Assurance protocols.
  • Exceptional supervisory capabilities.
