Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the organization's AWS cloud transformation initiative, focusing on re-architecting, modernizing, and migrating core platforms from traditional on-premises environments to AWS. The Senior Cloud Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud infrastructure that enables the organization to leverage cloud capabilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage AWS infrastructure, including compute, networking, and storage resources.
  • Provision and optimize compute instances in AWS while monitoring resource usage.
  • Design storage solutions and content replication strategies to meet performance benchmarks.
  • Develop network architectures in AWS and ensure seamless connectivity to data centers.
  • Create Linux and Ansible scripts for deploying system configurations in the cloud.
  • Implement security updates and enhancements on RedHat Linux operating systems.
  • Configure essential services such as DNS, LDAP, syslog, and email.
  • Deploy RDS/Aurora database instances and collaborate with database administration teams.
  • Implement managed services in AWS for Kinesis, Kafka, ElasticSearch, and API Gateway.
  • Utilize AWS SageMaker for deploying machine learning solutions.
  • Oversee container deployment using ECS, EKS, and Docker.
  • Establish systems monitoring and reporting frameworks.
  • Recommend hardware specifications and optimize infrastructure sizing.
  • Coordinate the implementation of firewall rules and routing adjustments.
  • Investigate and resolve latency issues, network packet loss, and system performance challenges.
  • Address security vulnerabilities within the infrastructure.
  • Participate in risk assessments and audits.
  • Design highly available and fault-tolerant solutions to mitigate system failures.
  • Maintain documentation for network diagrams, system configurations, support procedures, and runbooks.
  • Manage disaster recovery plans and oversee change control processes.
  • Respond to critical production incidents and provide immediate solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Protect sensitive customer information.
  • Adhere to organizational security protocols and guidelines.
  • Complete mandatory security and cybersecurity training annually.
  • Occasional travel to remote sites may be required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of systems experience, including a minimum of 5 years in AWS Cloud.
  • Proficiency in System Administration on RedHat Linux or Unix.
  • Experience in setting up virtual machines and provisioning storage solutions.
  • Expertise in developing network solutions.
  • Experience in large-scale IT infrastructure deployment or data center operations.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk, or Datadog.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting production issues and meeting critical service level agreements.
