The Role

  • Attend to the needs of guests, especially during check-in and check-out.
  • Answer phones, make reservations, and meet guests' needs throughout their stay.
  • Handle guests' inquiries and complaints and oversee the in-house market.
  • Sign guests up for shuttles and promote the Wyndham Rewards program by enrolling new guests.

Responsibilities

  • Check guests in and out.
  • Provide information to guests about hotel policies, services, and amenities.
  • Respond to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area.
  • Sell rooms to walk-in customers.
  • Enter and change reservation information on the computer system.
  • Post charges to guest accounts.
  • Process payments from guests.
  • Making necessary corrections to guest accounts.
  • Inform the housekeeping department about room status/availability.
  • Listen for and respond to guest complaints.
  • Operate the hotel switchboard or PBX.
  • Clean the front desk and common areas as needed.
  • Maintain daily logs.
  • Balance shift work and cash drawers.
  • Stock and sell market items.
  • Sign guests up for daily shuttles for airport and cruise port.
  • Additional responsibilities may include any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Strong customer service skills, excellent communication abilities, the ability to multitask, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, computer literacy, and the capacity to work calmly under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous front desk hotel experience.
