THE SPRINGS EVENTS is seeking two dedicated individuals to join our team as Grounds Maintenance Technicians.

OBJECTIVE:

The primary goal is to maintain the aesthetics and functionality of the venue's grounds, ensuring they are pristine and ready for events. We are looking for reliable candidates who are enthusiastic about teamwork and can collaborate effectively with all venue personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following are the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:

  • Execute written work orders or verbal directives from the supervisor.
  • Adhere to the Event Day Checklists to prepare for upcoming events.
  • Assist in moving furniture as required, particularly for last-minute arrangements.
  • Maintain and clean water features, ensuring they are free from debris and algae.
  • Verify that the irrigation system operates correctly.
  • Repair fences, gates, walls, and pathways as needed.
  • Mow and edge lawns in advance of events.
  • Trim trees and prune flower beds to enhance their appearance.
  • Apply mulch to flower beds and tree rings as necessary.
  • Manage weeds in grass and flower beds.
  • Fertilize plants according to a set schedule and as needed.
  • Replace sod when required.
  • Collect litter from the grounds.
  • Support the maintenance team to ensure the venue is in excellent condition for events.
  • Assist with larger projects as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
  • Weekend availability may be necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Regularly standing, walking, and using limbs for tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, or kneeling.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 100 pounds in rare instances.
  • Accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment may include exposure to:

  • Outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Occasional fumes from paints and garden chemicals, as well as airborne particles.
  • Noise levels that may exceed 70 dBA, particularly from equipment like lawnmowers.
  • Training and Personal Protective Equipment will be provided for safety.
  • Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
