Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Surgery Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Physical Therapy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain demographic, insurance, and financial information for registration, insurance verification, prior authorization, and billing.
  • Perform check-in procedures and manage patient flow processes.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and calculate estimated patient financial liability.
  • Schedule patients for evaluation and treatment according to provider guidelines.
  • Adhere to compliance policies and procedures regarding order validation, financial and cash policies, and patient safety requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and medical terminology.
  • Ability to multitask and express compassion and kindness to patients and staff.
Work Environment

The Patient Access Specialist will work in a normal office environment with direct patient contact. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
