Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team at the City of Whitehall, OH. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing medical assistance, and conducting fire suppression and rescue operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to individuals in need
  • Conduct fire suppression and rescue operations, including climbing ladders and operating heavy equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of fire apparatus and equipment
  • Participate in training exercises and drills to maintain and improve skills
  • Collaborate with other emergency responders to ensure effective and efficient response to emergencies
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License
  • Must be certified as a State of Ohio Firefighter II and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Paramedic certification
  • Experience in emergency medical services or firefighting
  • Knowledge of local and state traffic laws and regulations
