Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team at WMCHealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning

Conduct thorough and ongoing holistic nursing assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized plans of care. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure effective care coordination and discharge planning.

Teaching and Education

Provide individualized, ongoing teaching to patients and families to promote health literacy and self-management skills. Utilize evidence-based practice and current nursing standards to inform teaching and education.

Communication and Collaboration

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient advocacy. Foster a positive and inclusive team environment to promote high-performance teamwork.

Treatment and Procedures

Perform all treatments and procedures in accordance with established evidence-based policies, procedures, and patient care standards. Collaborate with the medical team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Documentation and Quality Improvement

Accurately and efficiently document patient information to ensure effective communication and care coordination. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to promote excellent patient outcomes and improved processes.

Leadership and Development

Delegate patient care tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and other ancillary personnel according to their scope of practice and individual competence. Supervise and evaluate the provision of care to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Mentor and develop co-workers to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed in the State of New York, or permittee.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of appropriate technology and practice standards for the Medical/Surgical unit.
  • Demonstrates sound clinical skills, knowledge of Hospital structure, objectives, and standards of practice, and positive communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Membership in a professional organization.
