The Role We Want You For

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of our infrastructure elements, enabling the efficient deployment of business IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Performance and Availability: Ensure optimal performance, capacity, and availability of our IT network landscape.
  • Architecture and Design: Make recommendations for improvements to existing architecture and design complex network infrastructure using Cisco technologies.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correlate complex network problems, identify root causes, and develop remediation strategies.
  • Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfers, and mentorship to peers as required.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Management: Create and maintain technical support playbooks and SOPs.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as a Tier 3 engineering escalation point of contact.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and manage internal relationships with leadership teams, business managers, IT, and business units, as well as external relationships with IT vendors and industry peers.
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Utilize enterprise and open-source tools to monitor critical business infrastructure components, perform detailed performance analysis, proactive tuning, and alerting for end-to-end business critical workflows.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Coordinate regular evaluation and maintenance of IT disaster recovery protocols against policy-driven RTO and RPO service levels, including formal testing of established protocols, in collaboration with IT and business units.
  • Technology Adoption and Innovation: Demonstrate the ability to assess, adopt, and operationalize new technologies.
  • Capacity Planning and Automation: Complete capacity planning activities, including monitoring and tracking capacity metrics, and identify opportunities to automate manual system tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or information systems preferred, but not required.
  • 7+ years' experience in designing, configuring, and managing complex network infrastructure is required.
  • Must have experience in designing and implementing complex network infrastructure using Cisco technologies, including Cisco Networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCDA.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing network security using PaloAlto Firewall, with a focus on Zero Trust Network Architecture, and PaloAlto Certification PCNSE is required.
  • Expertise in cloud networking, including Azure ExpressRoute, VNET Peering, Virtual WAN, AWS Direct Connect, VPC, Transit Gateway, and cloud solution architecture certification is good to have.
  • Expert knowledge in designing SD-WAN solutions using Cisco Meraki, FortiGate, PaloAlto, SilverPeak, or any other OEM vendor is required.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing wireless architecture using Cisco Meraki or any other OEM vendor with the latest technology, such as Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 with 80.2.1X authentication.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) frameworks is required.
  • Experience working with and configuring Splunk, ServiceNow, SolarWinds, and/or ITSM tools is desired.
  • Great teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to adjust to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment is necessary.
  • Ability to bridge silos and bring different teams together while working towards a common goal is required.
  • Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple complex projects at different phases in a self-directed manner is essential.
  • Proven ability to 'delight' clients through excellent customer service is required.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking with natural curiosity to distill detailed functional requirements for technology solutions based on input from business users is necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to translate technical or abstract concepts into a narrative that is intuitive to clients are required.
