Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and resolve issues related to RHEL 7/8 operating systems within isolated networks.
  • Utilize and comprehend man pages regularly.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong scripting proficiency in languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Excellent research abilities with a focus on testing solutions prior to production implementation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (mathematics, engineering, computer science, physics, etc.).
  • Proficiency assessment demonstrating command line expertise without internet access or external assistance.
  • U.S. Citizenship and capability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • A good sense of humor.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in scientific and/or engineering software development.
  • Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Salt, Puppet, CFEngine, Chef).
  • Comprehensive understanding of network technologies and security protocols.
  • Experience with Git version control systems.
  • Familiarity with RHEL derivatives like CentOS, specifically EL 7 and 8.
