About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer to join our team at GPAC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire protection systems for industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fire protection duties associated with the planning, analysis, design, and construction of various fire protection sprinkler systems.
  • Generate fire protection life safety code analyses and perform sprinkler system shop drawing plan reviews.
  • Conduct hydraulic and seismic bracing calculation reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Project Types

Our team works on a variety of projects, including commercial buildings, K-12 schools, medical facilities, housing/mix-use projects, higher education campuses, military facilities, waterfront and upland utility design for wharves and piers, and lift station design for storm and sanitary sewer systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with fire protection engineering concentration preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience in industrial facility design, construction, commissioning, and/or operations
  • 5+ years of experience working as a fire protection engineer and familiar with nuclear, radiological, and/or other higher-hazard industrial facilities
  • Possess a Professional Fire Protection Engineer License is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of new and existing non-reactor facility structural engineering systems and calculations, applications of engineering methods, and application of computer-aided engineering tools to solve operations-based engineering problems
