Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in National Security Science and Engineering. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will have the opportunity to conduct independent research and development that supports Sandia's mission to develop advanced technologies that ensure global peace.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and development in areas such as biological sciences, earth, energy, and environmental science, engineering sciences, materials and advanced manufacturing, math, computing and information science, nanodevices and microsystems, physical sciences, and radiation effects and high energy density sciences.
- Propose and conduct research projects that align with Sandia's national security mission.
- Collaborate with senior technical leadership and other researchers to advance the state-of-the-art in national security science and engineering.
- Participate in a leadership development program to prepare for career advancement as a recognized leader in your field or institution.
- Ph.D. conferred within the past three years or completion of Ph.D. requirements by commencement of appointment.
- Evidence of strong academic achievement, excellent technical accomplishment, leadership, and ability to team effectively.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Completion of the full application process, which includes submission of a research proposal relevant to Sandia's national security mission.
- Creativity and self-motivation.
- Good communication skills.
- Interest in leadership.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in service to the nation.
Sandia's Science and Technology and Research Foundations supports development and delivery of a full spectrum of differentiating capabilities, ranging from fundamental scientific discoveries to system-level engineering solutions, to support the Laboratory's mission needs.

- Biological science.
- Computing, information science, and mathematics.
- Earth, energy, and environmental science.
- Engineering science.
- Materials and advanced manufacturing.
- Nanodevices and microsystems.
- Physical science.
- Radiation effects and high energy physics, including all aspects of engineering diagnostics and testing, and modeling and simulation.
