Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Laser Equipment Specialist is responsible for executing laser operational tasks, including setup, calibration, and maintenance of laser machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct daily laser operations, ensuring proper startup, calibration, and alignment.
  2. Adhere to the production schedule established by management to ensure consistent workflow.
  3. Maintain regular attendance as a critical function of the role.
  4. Develop an understanding of machine sounds and behaviors to prevent potential damage during operation.
  5. Implement adjustments to reduce the need for extensive part cleanup.
  6. Follow maintenance guidelines to keep machinery in optimal condition and ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Program production sheets to meet weekly output goals and address any production gaps.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Assist in maintaining cleanliness within the workshop and perform other related tasks as assigned.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

Collaborate effectively with team members to promote a positive and efficient work atmosphere. Maintain awareness of necessary parts for machine operation and communicate any shortages promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in laser or CNC operations. Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.

Preferred: Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures and vocational training in a related field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is based in a factory setting, where adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines is mandatory. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift or move components as necessary. The work environment may involve exposure to elevated temperatures, noise, and metal dust.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform tasks requiring finger and arm dexterity, including standing, kneeling, and reaching around machinery.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:

Performance will be assessed bi-annually, with annual goals set collaboratively between the supervisor and the employee.
