Clinical Athletic Trainer 3

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Athletic Trainer 3 to join our team in the Department of Ortho Sports Medicine. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with senior attending surgeons to provide exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessments of patients with acute, chronic, or potential injuries and illnesses.
- Perform thorough physical examinations, including range of motion testing, strength and manual muscle testing, and neurovascular and sensation testing.
- Present cases to attending physicians, including any available imaging results.
- Administrative Duties
- Transcribe, enter, and execute standing orders at the direction of the supervising physician, including radiographs, MRIs, EMGs, CT scans, ultrasounds, physical therapy, injection procedures, braces, lab work, medication, and physician referrals.
- Provide patient education, including answering questions and instructing on rehabilitation exercises.
- Fits patients with splints, crutches, braces, wraps, and other orthopedic appliances/DMEs and educates on proper use.
- Communication and Documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients, other staff, and providers regarding patient care and questions.
- Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Leadership and Education
- Serve as a Preceptor, mentor, and/or supervisor for students observing, shadowing, and obtaining clinical experience in sports medicine.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification and Licensing
- Certification in a relevant specialty or field.
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
