The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our Club Sports team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing top-notch medical care to our student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being during competitions and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on-site medical care and management of injuries and illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.
- Assess risk of injury and perform ergonomic evaluations to prevent injuries.
- Document all patient encounters electronically and maintain accurate records.
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs and customized strategies to minimize risk of injury.
- Communicate with Recreational Sports staff and physicians regarding injury status of athletes.
- Carry out medical care for assigned student-athletes according to sports medicine standard operating procedures.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Work clinic hours during selected workday evenings and weekend home contests as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- NATA-BOC Certification for Florida Licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
- State athletic training licensure.
- NPI Number Required.
- Preferred certifications: CSCS, PES, ATR, GRASTON, JOINT, MOB, ECT.
- Eligibility for Florida Licensure as an Athletic Trainer under the written protocol and supervised by University of Miami's Physician as directed by the State of Florida Athletic Trainers Act.
