Key Responsibilities- Accurately track and manage all prescriptions written by physicians, maintaining a daily log of dispensed prescriptions.
- Supervise and monitor prescriptions to ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines and effective use of e-prescribing systems.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting patients and explaining the prescription system, confirming patient information, and offering choices for physician dispensing or e-prescription.
- Effectively use Centricity and Pioneer software to verify patient prescription coverage insurance and accurately bill according to coverage plans.
- Work with insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for physician dispensing medication claims and follow up on submitted requests as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; two-year degree preferred.
- Pharmacy technician certification.
- Zero to two years related work experience or training.
- Knowledge of computer/telephony support, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Strong customer service background, preferably in a healthcare environment.
This position functions primarily indoors in a medical/business environment. Employees may be subject to blood-borne pathogens, radiation, bio-waste, and other medically-related factors, with exposure to moderate noise levels.
