Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patients for neurodiagnostic procedures and obtain required medical information
  • Prepare patients for tests, including measuring and marking cranial areas and fastening electrodes to specified positions on the scalp and body
  • Document pertinent medical history from patients or family members
  • Operate computer equipment to record nervous system responses and provide quantitative and objective measures of neuronal/sensory function
  • Perform procedures with appropriate documentation and identify EEG waveforms/patterns during testing
  • Clean, adjust, and perform routine maintenance and repair on neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Collaborate with supervisors and medical personnel to resolve problems and advise concerning laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment
  • React in medical emergencies to ensure patient safety and know unit and hospital procedures for working with high-acuity patients
Requirements
  • HS diploma and 6 months of patient care or an Associate or Bachelor degree
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Salary: $18-$32/hr (depending on experience) with a $6,000 sign-on bonus
