Job Summary:

As a Senior Neurodiagnostic Technician at Highmark Health, you will play a critical role in performing routine and complex neurodiagnostic testing on all patients as ordered. This position requires strong leadership, technical, and analytical skills for decision making. You will be responsible for participating in department projects, initiatives, and continuing education, as well as completing all charges according to department guidelines. Additionally, you will be expected to keep equipment clean and in operating condition, detect instrument malfunction, and make minor adjustments or report the need for major repairs.

Responsibilities:

Performs clinical neurodiagnostic procedures, including all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hr ambulatory EEG's, EMG/NVC testing in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policies/procedures.

Demonstrates leadership, technical, and analytical skills for decision making.

Participates in department projects, initiatives, and continuing education.

Completes all charges according to department guidelines.

Keeps equipment clean and in operating condition, detects instrument malfunction, makes minor adjustments or reports need for major repairs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor's degree or one to two years of relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.

Must become credentialed by American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) for the Registered Electrocochleographic Technologist (R. EEG T) or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) for the Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (R. ED T.) or the Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T) within one year.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic program.

EMT, Medical Assistant Certification, PA Licensed Practical Nurse.

5 years neurodiagnostic experience in a hospital or physician's office.
