Job Description

This seasonal day camp counselor position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children during Hamilton County Schools' Fall, Winter and Spring Breaks. As a team member at YMCA, you will play a key role in creating a fun and engaging environment for kids.

About the Role:

  • Supervise a group of children in a seasonal day camp setting with safety and cleanliness as top priorities.
  • Plan and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate program activities that cater to diverse populations.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings to stay updated on program standards and policies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of program progress and participant engagement.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and other staff members.

Requirements:

  • Must be 17 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp setting is preferred.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations of children is also preferred.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This compensation package includes opportunities for professional growth and development within the organization.

Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to plan, lead, and participate in a range of activities in various outdoor and indoor settings. It may involve exposure to summer heat and sunlight, outdoor elements, and aquatic environments. The physical demands include walking, stooping, standing, bending, hearing, seeing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
