Job Title: Senior Auditor-Capital

At NJ TRANSIT, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor-Capital to join our Internal Audit team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and executing audit assignments for capital audits and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as in-charge auditor and lead audit projects, evaluating contractor billings for compliance with applicable regulations and financial controls.
  • Assist in the development of the capital contract audit program and conduct audit testing on capital contract and operational audits.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate audit reports, incorporating audit results and recommendations.
  • Perform special reviews and projects or other assignments at the request of Internal Audit management.
  • Follow up on prior issued audit reports to ensure that audit recoveries are collected by Finance.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with all members of the Internal Audit Department and interact with members of all other NJ TRANSIT departments and outside entities in an effective, professional, and confidential manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Auditing, Accounting, Business Administration, or related area required.
  • Three to five years of auditing and/or public accounting experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA or IIAs Certified Internal Auditor certification desirable.
  • Knowledge of FARS, GAAP, GAAS, and audit sampling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite required.
