Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Levy Sector. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collects and disposes of trash and recyclables in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Dusts and damp mops floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Moves equipment and furniture to facilitate cleaning and organization.
  • Cleans assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment, sanitizing all surfaces.
  • Washes walls, windows, furniture, and other items to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Seeks out areas requiring cleaning and takes initiative to complete tasks.
  • Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor, adhering to federal, state, and county guidelines.
  • Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refinishes floors, and shampoos carpet to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment, exhibiting professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.
  • Cleans and sanitizes locker rooms, ensuring they are presentable and well-maintained.
  • Maintains cleanliness of bathrooms, including regular restocking of supplies.
  • Vacuums, mops, and dusts to ensure a tidy and professional environment.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks, such as light bulb replacements and minor repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in custodial or facilities maintenance preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-sufficiency and physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and lift/move heavy objects if necessary.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, ascending and descending stairs.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.
  • May be required to handle cleaning chemicals and operate cleaning equipment safely.
