Job Opportunity at Maritime Behavioral Health Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Maritime Behavioral Health Management. As a Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional therapeutic counseling services to our clients, helping them manage a wide range of mental and emotional issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients' mental health status, using a combination of interview, observation, and psychometric tests.
  2. Client History and Presenting Information: Obtain detailed client history and presenting information, as outlined in our program policy.
  3. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to clients' specific needs and objectives.
  4. Therapy Sessions: Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  5. Progress Monitoring: Regularly review and revise treatment plans in collaboration with clients to ensure their evolving needs are met.
  6. Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals: Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive care.
  7. Discharge Planning: Coordinate comprehensive discharge plans to ensure seamless community reintegration.
  8. Client Records: Maintain up-to-date, confidential client records, documenting clients' progress towards their treatment goals.
  9. Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients' needs and rights, providing resources and referrals as necessary.
  10. Professional Development: Stay informed of the latest developments and best practices in the field of mental health counseling.
  11. Compliance: Comply with all ethical guidelines, professional standards, and state and federal laws related to mental health services.
Qualifications:
  1. A master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  2. Valid state license in mental health counseling or equivalent; or license eligible.
  3. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical or counseling setting.
  4. Proficient in cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
  6. High degree of professionalism and adherence to ethical standards.
  7. Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.
  8. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
