Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Telecare and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) plays a critical role in providing high-quality patient care through triage, remote monitoring, and outbound/inbound phone lines. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously while adhering to organizational standards and core values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately assess patient conditions through active listening and probative questioning, identifying emergent situations and providing appropriate dispositions.
  • Prioritize patient care in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
  • Provide courteous and informative telephone advice, including plan of care and patient education, according to approved protocols.
  • Document initial and ongoing telephone conversations accurately and immediately after the call ends.
  • Place outbound follow-up calls to caregivers as needed.
  • Communicate information to physicians on call as needed, either over the phone or by routing necessary information.
  • Meet unit expectations for call volumes, call duration, and customer service.
  • Work autonomously while adhering to organizational standards and core values.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and required departmental meetings.
  • Utilize and maintain supplied equipment, troubleshooting tech issues to ensure uninterrupted service to patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing (effective January 1, 2020, new hires and team members moved into this job and/or transferring departments must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree within 36 months of placement).
  • Maintains current RN license in the State of Florida.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC as required based on the appropriate certification for the patient population.
  • Twelve months hospital RN experience required.
