Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Master's degree in nursing.
  • Training: Graduate from a National League of Nursing accredited nursing program and an approved anesthesia training program recognized by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthetists (COA).
  • Certification: Must possess and maintain one of the following certifications: Certification from the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists, Registered Nurse Anesthetist certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), or certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Additional Certifications: Hands-on certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and a valid DEA registration number.
  • Experience: Proven experience in administering epidural anesthesia and monitoring various anesthesia modalities.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current and unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse anesthetist.
  • Other Criteria: U.S. citizenship, proficiency in English, and physical capability.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the anesthesia experience for patients, conduct preoperative assessments, administer diverse anesthesia types, monitor patient responses, manage fluid therapy, and more.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of anesthesia equipment.

Work Schedule:

  • Shifts may vary, including 8, 10, or 12-hour schedules, with potential weekend and holiday work.
  • Work hours will not exceed 80 hours in a two-week timeframe; any overtime must receive prior approval.
  • Service on federally recognized holidays may be required.

Compensation During Planned Closures:

Compensation during scheduled facility closures is based on actual hours worked; leave or LWOP is necessary for non-working days.
