Electrical Engineer

At SpaceX, we are working towards a future where humanity is out exploring the stars. As an Avionics Design Engineer, you will be part of our Starlink team, which is developing the technologies to make this possible. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together.
This role involves owning harness design from concept and component selection, through to production, qualification, and system integration. You will develop the electro-mechanical design of wire harnesses within our family of Starlink vehicles, and manage technical trade studies to meet stakeholder objectives as well as adhere to internal design standards and requirements.
The estimated salary for this position is $105,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location. This is a base salary, and may vary based on individual qualifications and experience. Additionally, you may be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and access to an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Responsibilities:- Develop the electro-mechanical design of wire harnesses within our family of Starlink vehicles
- Manage technical trade studies to meet stakeholder objectives as well as adhere to internal design standards and requirements
- Generate electrical schematics to support both flight and qualification designs
- Owning vehicle-level harnessing mechanical assemblies and drive to closure all systems integration trades related to those assemblies
- Perform analysis and physical testing (both mechanical and electrical) of harnessing with respect to thermal, loads, vibration and shock to ensure full qualification for flight
