Maintenance Group Lead

Job Summary

The Maintenance Group Lead is responsible for supporting manufacturing facility operations while managing a team of 6-10 maintenance technicians. This role reports to the Senior Manager - Environmental & Facilities Operations and is key to ensuring reliable and efficient operations of facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by a Safety First mindset, using principles such as 'Customer First and Respect for Team Members' along with learning & implementing the core foundation of the Production System in day-to-day operations.
  • Coach and develop Facilities Maintenance team members on a daily basis, provide clear direction, technical resources, training & work plans.
  • Support daily operations and maintenance for Plant utility and building systems - Power, chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, water supply, wastewater, and dust collection equipment.
  • Track and identify operational issues and problem solve with countermeasures via maintenance repairs, and/or contract support.
  • Create a standardized process(s) and documentation for various control systems.
  • Support programming, troubleshooting, modifying, and/or repairing programmable logic controllers for facilities engineering systems.
  • Project planning and project management coordination for energy and water reduction.
  • Lead activity to support Company Target(s) & Objective(s) such as Key Performance Indicators for Safety, Quality, Cost, etc.
  • Lead a team for daily response to equipment issues as not to impact and/or minimize downtime to production.
  • Develop next generation of Facilities Maintenance Team Members.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: packaging and handling machinery, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, grounds equipment, and HVAC.
  • Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience in a commercial or industrial property setting.
  • Experience in Facilities Maintenance in a manufacturing environment, including Preventive Maintenance and exposure to power, chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, water supply, wastewater, dust collection and similar equipment and processes.
  • PLC experience for Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar including troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Experience with mechanical & electrical schematics, including the ability to read, interpret and modify.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform failure diagnosis, including identifying and reporting on failure of components.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
