Position Summary

We are looking for certified lifeguards for both summer and year-round positions at our indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities. As a certified lifeguard, you will utilize your skills to perform vital and impactful work that is essential to the safety and well-being of our diverse community members. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a positive demeanor, effective communication abilities, and self-motivation.


PRCS serves a wide-ranging population, including youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.


We are currently seeking lifeguards for various locations throughout the county.

  • Monitor the use of aquatic facilities and equipment to ensure the safety of visitors and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform rescues using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Contact emergency medical services in the event of serious injuries.
  • Provide necessary emergency care and treatment.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations.
  • Deliver courteous and prompt customer service to staff and facility users.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • May undertake additional essential duties specific to the role and department.

Flexible scheduling options are available, including early mornings, daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate your educational, vacation, work, or family commitments.


Qualifications

Lifeguard I (Grade 103): Candidates must be at least 15 years old and possess the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at the time of hire or obtain it within 30 days of employment.

Lifeguard II (Grade 104): Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and hold the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at the time of hire or obtain it within 30 days of employment.

Requirements and Conditions
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Obtain Lifeguard Certification, First Aid Certification, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
