The Patient Relations Specialist serves as a key liaison between patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff. This role is responsible for ensuring patients understand hospital policies, procedures, and services, and for resolving complaints and grievances in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve patient complaints and grievances in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding patient rights and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to identify and address system-related problems that impact patient satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve patient perception of care and reduce complaints.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to patient rights and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 years of experience in a healthcare facility.
  • Certificate in Patient Advocacy required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
