Position Overview

Compensation: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Under the guidance of the Store Supervisor and Lead Cashier, the Cashier is responsible for executing various tasks that contribute to the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance shopping experiences.
  • Utilize a computerized register to accurately process transactions.
  • Assist in bagging groceries while being attentive to customer preferences.
  • Memorize codes for bulk items and produce for efficient service.
  • Engage in general merchandising duties, including stocking and organizing products.
  • Handle special product orders from customers and coordinate with department managers to fulfill requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the register station.
  • Ensure product pricing is consistent with shelf labels and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay vigilant regarding safety and security protocols.
  • Support colleagues as needed in various tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Education:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in customer service.
  • Cashiering experience is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and communicate product information effectively.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Capable of working accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Frequent typing on a touchscreen interface.
  • Regular handling of products across a scanner.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of boxes and crates weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach overhead and access products on shelves.
Work Availability

Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
