Clinical Psychologist for Student Support Services

Position Overview: The role involves providing psychological support to individuals facing personal and academic challenges.
Essential Qualifications: Candidates must explicitly demonstrate how they fulfill the following qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited institution.
- Completion of an APA accredited internship.
- Experience in crisis intervention services.
- Experience in consultation services.
- Experience in developing and implementing prevention programs.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Texas, with licensure to be obtained within 24 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a higher education counseling environment or similar adult demographic, which may include pre-doctoral internships or postdoctoral residencies.
- Experience addressing the unique needs of student athletes.
- Experience collaborating with sports medicine professionals, coaches, and athletic staff.
- Interest or experience in providing services to high-performance populations.
- Experience with performance-based interventions and assessment techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, campus departments, and student organizations.
- Experience supporting First Generation student populations.
- Ability to provide services in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Interpersonal flexibility and a sense of humor.
- Understanding of the importance of work-life balance.
- Commitment to a developmental approach in student services.
Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing effective personal counseling (both individual and group).
- Conducting initial clinical assessments and triage.
- Delivering crisis intervention services.
- Implementing outreach programs.
- Consulting and training with coaches, medical staff, and athletic administration.
- Maintaining awareness of NCAA policies.
- Navigating complex professional roles while fostering strong relationships and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Conducting clinical assessments.
- Providing clinical training and supervision as available.
- Handling administrative duties, including participation in staff and committee meetings.
- Engaging in professional development and continuing education.
- Adhering to ethical standards of conduct and service delivery.
- Delivering services in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
- Providing services in-person or through secure virtual platforms.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
