About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Intermediate/Senior CAD Technologist to join our dynamic Water Team at Stantec. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of private and public water infrastructure projects, utilizing your technical skills and expertise to deliver high-quality designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and coach junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Work under minimal supervision, managing multiple water-related projects and collaborating with the Business Centre Leadership Team.
  • Perform on technically complex projects, acting as a technical resource and guiding staff to ensure technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leaders to promote work-sharing and import/export personnel as required to deliver projects successfully.
  • Assign, review, and evaluate work for technical accuracy and completeness, and advise on technical problems.
  • Create Civil 3D surface, road, and utility models, and coordinate project drawings with project managers, technical staff, and others.
  • Complete model reviews and collaborate with other technical disciplines to ensure that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Understand and adhere to Stantec and client standards, and organize and maintain a design and CAD digital file database for each project.
  • Maintain project CAD standards relating to Civil 3D.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment disciplines, and/or an educational background in these areas.
  • Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Highly organized, with significant attention to detail, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, and ProjectWise is an asset.
Education and Experience
  • A Civil Technologist Diploma, Geomatics Technologist Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Experience and familiarity with municipal, urban development, and utilities disciplines, and/or an educational background in these areas.
  • 8 years of related experience, and a comprehensive knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

This is a full-time position, with a salary range of $73,500 - $106,600, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid family leave.
