Job Summary

The Medical Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in the Business Office of Washington Hospital, assisting the professional staff in submitting primary and secondary claims to medical insurance companies, processing payments and adjustments, and meeting established medical protocols.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare accurate and complete bills for manual or electronic submission, ensuring compliance with third-party billing requirements under the supervision of the supervisor.
  2. Report information to members of the Business Office team and other hospital staff.
  3. Demonstrate competency in technical skills and procedures as delegated by the hospital's Core Biller Skills & Responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Assist in preparing bills for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with third-party billing requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills and procedures.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position in the Business Office at Washington Hospital, Monday through Friday, 7:30a-4pm, with 40 hours per week.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
