SUMMARY:
The Public Spaces Supervisor is responsible for managing the operations of the department, delegating daily cleaning tasks to team members, and fulfilling assigned administrative responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delegate daily cleaning tasks to team members.
- Conduct inspections of all casino areas, public spaces, and employee zones to ensure they meet cleanliness standards.
- Manage inventory and procurement of necessary cleaning supplies for the Public Spaces team.
- Utilize a communication device to respond to requests from various departments.
- Perform the duties of a Casino Porter when required.
- Set a positive example and address any issues that may arise.
- Possess knowledge of the proper use of commercial cleaning products, vacuums, brooms, mops, and sanitation practices.
- Understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and adhere to safety protocols.
- Maintain open communication with the Executive Housekeeper, Chief Engineer, and Security management.
- Assist guests with inquiries or requests they may have.
- Keep communication lines open with Supervisors and Managers regarding all Housekeeping and Guest Service matters.
- Exhibit a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with Team Members, Guests, and Vendors.
- Be receptive to performance feedback in a constructive manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS
Oversees the daily activities of the Public Spaces team. Must communicate effectively in all situations and respond positively to guest or team member concerns, ensuring that all guests enjoy the best possible experience. Executes supervisory duties in alignment with the organization's policies and relevant laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, an individual must successfully perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary.
All employees must be familiar with all company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. A minimum of one year of prior supervisory experience in housekeeping or environmental services is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
None required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in various units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with Synergy is preferred.
EQUIPMENT USED
Vacuum cleaners, mops, and cleaning chemicals.
