Key Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate architecture and technical specifications for cloud-based solutions to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Perform security evaluations, risk assessments, and vulnerability scans of cloud infrastructures.
- Oversee and react to security incidents and breaches within cloud environments, including intrusion detection and incident management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate security best practices into cloud development processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in cloud security.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior security team members.
- Lead the adoption and maintenance of secure DevOps methodologies, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and container security (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Engage with cloud service providers and third-party vendors to assess and integrate new security technologies and features into existing cloud architectures.
- Conduct security training and awareness initiatives for development teams to foster a security-first culture and ensure adherence to cloud security policies.
- Facilitate incident response drills and tabletop exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of cloud security incident response strategies and protocols.
- Contribute to the creation of security documentation, including security playbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and security architecture diagrams for cloud environments.
- Participate in audits and compliance assessments related to cloud security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
- Collaborate with regulatory compliance teams to ensure cloud environments meet industry-specific compliance mandates (e.g., HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR).
Qualifications
- Expertise in Cloud Security: Proven ability to design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud environments across various platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with security tools and technologies tailored for cloud environments, scripting languages, and automation for security tasks.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to assess complex security challenges in cloud architectures and devise innovative solutions to mitigate risks and bolster security posture.
- Leadership and Team Collaboration: Demonstrated capacity to lead security initiatives, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior team members in cloud security best practices.
- Effective Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey security concepts, present technical information to diverse audiences, and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic Insight: Ability to align security strategies with business goals, anticipate future security needs, and provide recommendations for enhancing cloud security capabilities.
- Regulatory Compliance Acumen: Knowledge of industry-specific compliance requirements and experience ensuring cloud environments adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on cloud security.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features.
- Hands-on experience with cloud security tools such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, or Google Cloud Security Command Center.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Terraform) for security tasks in cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of networking principles, encryption technologies, and identity and access management (IAM) in cloud settings.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
