Position Requirements

Our Faculty of Behavioral Sciences is currently seeking Part-Time Professors to teach in the Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program. Training will be provided prior to the assignment of teaching responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of five years of professional experience in Counselling Psychology or a related field. You will be responsible for delivering graduate-level courses, utilizing the latest research and practices in Canadian counselling and psychology, while demonstrating a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization in your teaching approach.

This role is conducted remotely, utilizing Moodle as the online delivery platform.

Applicants must provide a current Clinical License and an Official Transcript from their doctoral program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitating courses in counselling psychology theory and skills
  • Supporting student success through ongoing guidance and mentorship
  • Managing online discussions and learning activities via the Moodle platform
  • Providing timely feedback and grading for student assessments
  • Addressing student inquiries and concerns
  • Participating in university and program-level committees
  • Completing administrative tasks related to course management
  • Contributing to strategic program development and pursuing ongoing professional growth
Qualifications
  • A conferred Doctorate in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related field from an APA-accredited program
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related area
  • Current clinical practice license
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level and familiarity with the Moodle online platform is highly desirable
  • Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal
