General Purpose of Job:

The Graphic Design Assistant plays a crucial role in generating informative and promotional materials for Driscoll Children's Hospital, including the design and layout of brochures, newsletters, advertisements, digital graphics, magazines, invitations, flyers, presentations, and other projects as necessary. This position is focused on creating visually engaging graphics that effectively communicate our brand message. The Assistant will collaborate with a team of innovative thinkers who apply creative solutions to marketing and communication strategies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, an individual must successfully perform each essential duty. The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for this position. Reasonable tasks may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or hospital administration as needed:
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Comply with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit ethical business practices and personal actions that align with corporate compliance and integrity standards.
  • Possess strong knowledge and skills in graphic design and editing software (Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Develop creative concepts and designs that align with the Driscoll brand for print and digital materials, including advertisements, flyers, presentations, newsletters, magazines, and various collateral.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Engage in creative writing and professional editing in accordance with AP Stylebook guidelines.
  • Research and compose copy for advertising and collateral materials.
  • Capture and edit photographs as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Currently enrolled in or have completed a bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in graphic editing software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, and PowerPoint.
  • A passion for branding and a solid understanding of brand identity systems, with a portfolio that showcases exceptional design, typography, and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Exhibit soft skills including creativity, empathy, adaptability, resourcefulness, openness to feedback, a strong work ethic, and a general tendency to foster positivity.
