Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team at Malace HR. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch customer service and ensuring the optimal performance of refrigeration systems in various retail businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to a diverse range of clients, including restaurants, delis, grocery stores, convenience stores, schools, hotels, hospitals, and military bases.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Conduct thorough repairs and maintenance of refrigeration racks and systems, including compressor changes, rack refrigeration repairs, and handling failures.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform ESR replacements, energy management system repairs, HVAC repair and preventive maintenance, split condensing unit repairs/replacements, leak detection and repairs, self-contained unit maintenance, ice machine upkeep, heat pump servicing, and controls troubleshooting.
  • General Maintenance: Conduct general and preventive maintenance tasks with enthusiasm, exhibit mechanical proficiency and technical aptitude, approach challenges with curiosity and innovation, demonstrate reliability and consistency, and effectively communicate with clients, teammates, and management.
  • Time Management: Masterfully manage time and resources to control costs, enhance efficiencies, and meet commitments.
  • Technical Skills: Operate HVAC/R diagnostic equipment, weld and braze with an open flame, handle hazardous chemicals, and utilize necessary portable hand tools. Be certified to properly handle refrigerant for systems.
Requirements
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC and commercial refrigeration.
  • Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interactions with clients, team members, and management.
  • Capability to thrive under high pressure in high-stress environments.
  • A self-starter mentality, with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Openness to additional responsibilities as they arise.
  • Ability to obtain additional licenses and certifications as appropriate.
  • Proficiency in operating a smartphone, tablet, and/or laptop.
