Snowbasin Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of our Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) culinary activities, as well as Banquet Culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of QSR culinary activities, including menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation.
• Manage day-to-day culinary operations, including food safety and sanitation, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Develop and enforce service standards in all food and beverage operations, through constant guidance of employees and guest engagement.
• Foster a kitchen environment of safety and awareness of kitchen/restaurant hazards.
• Monitor and secure inventories daily, including product pulls for haul cat with accuracy.
• Enforce consistency and portion control for all food and beverage QSR retail items.
• Lead workshops and meetings to progress departmental service standards and profitability.
• Attend Quality Assurance meetings as needed.
• Coach and mentor subordinate employees through training and positive guidance.
• Act as point person for inquiries related to any and all manner of banquet/event culinary events.
• Monitor all BOH on-mountain QSR facilities.
• Enforce budget standards as directed by F&B director and executive chef.
• During summer position will operationally be the banquet culinary leader.
• Maintain a presence in BOH of all on-mountain QSR operations.
• Ensure all reporting and time-sensitive needs are supplied to appropriate parties when required.
• Participate in and promote safety, accident prevention, and recycling efforts.
• Work to grow all revenue opportunities and streams, including specials, events, and incremental sales initiatives.
• Represent Snowbasin Resort at community and industry events as necessary.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of relevant kitchen experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to accurately read and make measurements.
• Utah Food Handlers Permit required.
• ServSafe Managers Certification preferred.
