About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet of heavy trucks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and equipment.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including tire rotation, lubrication, and electrical system repairs.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, including work orders and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with our service manager to stay up-to-date on the latest technical training and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of our maintenance team.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in heavy truck maintenance and repair
  • Proven expertise in hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses
  • Strong MIG and stick welding skills
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive electrical systems
  • Diesel engine repair experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT physical
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and tools
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
