Job Overview

Baker Roofing Company is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing General Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our commercial roofing division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customers, and driving business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to support the local sales team
  • Oversee activities related to safety, quality, and customer service
  • Manage equipment needs and purchases efficiently
  • Direct and coordinate activities of businesses and departments concerned with production, pricing, sales, and installation of services
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement
  • Collaborate with the Regional VP on reporting and implementation of measures to develop and maintain performance expectations
  • Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties
  • Manage and coordinate department financial and budget activities to maximize investments and increase efficiency
  • Implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
  • Determine staffing requirements, assist the Regional VP with interviewing, and hiring new employees
  • Manage recruitment of sub-contractor and/or employee crews and maintain existing relationships
  • Plan and direct activities such as sales promotions, collaborating with other departments and department heads as required
  • Locate and procure materials and equipment as needed and represent management in purchase negotiations
  • Monitor businesses and agencies to ensure they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits
  • Manage resolution of complaints and provide negotiation to assist both internal and external customers
  • Maintain, stock, and organize local inventories and storage facilities
  • Collaborate with non-service BRC departments or businesses, such as advertising or purchasing, metal fabrication
  • Implement, maintain, and oversee local environmental management or sustainability programs
  • Collaborate with managers and department heads regarding internal divisional recognition and/or reward programs
Requirements
  • Education: High School graduate / College preferred
  • Years of Experience: 10 Years minimum experience in the roofing industry
  • Certifications: 30 Hour OSHA Construction card, First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne pathogen training
Physical Demands
  • Requires standing up for long periods of time
  • Requires use of ladders, scaffolds, and stairways
  • Requires ability to climb, lift, balance, walk, and handle materials
  • Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing
  • Requires seeing details at close range
  • Requires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping or crawling
  • Requires ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items weighing 50 pounds
Work Environment
  • Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures, including exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
  • Includes exposure to contaminants, hazardous material, or equipment
  • Mistakes are not easily correctable and have serious consequences, therefore Safety procedures need to be followed
  • Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings
  • Requires exposure to high places or dangerous conditions
